Visit Calcutta, an historic city that has adopted modern day life, but still treasures its traditional heritage. Drive through the century-old tea plantations of Darjeeling into the foothills of the Himalayas where you will find unchanged traditions and Sikkimese ambiance. From the Buddhist world of the Himalayas, travel into Assam and the savannas of Kaziranga National Park, where swamps and thickets of elephant grass create ideal habitat for Indian one-horned rhino.

Arrive in Calcutta and transfer to your hotel. Spend a full day exploring the contrasts of the city.
Commercial flight from Calcutta to Bagdogra then drive to Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. Visit the Rumtek monastery and explore the small town of Gangtok including the Institute of Tibetology.
Drive to Darjeeling and see the Bengal Natural History Museum and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Later continue the drive to Glenburn and check in to your room at the tea plantation. Spend a day enjoying the plantation and walking around the estate.
Drive to Bagdogra for a commercial flight to Guwahati and transfer to your hotel.
Drive from Guwahati to Kaziranga National Park and check in to your lodge. Take elephant rides in the park and game drives to look for one-horned rhinos, buffalo, elephant, birds and other wildlife.
Drive to Guwahati for a commercial flight to Delhi and transfer to your hotel for a day use room until your international departing flight.
