Samantha Rosemond: Much More Than a Concierge
When discussing a safari, “First, we have a conversation to find out what people want to see and do, and then I sketch out a rough itinerary of destinations, parks, camps, and reserves that might suit them based on their travel style and budget,” explains Sam.
Once the safari is booked, Sam and her team start arranging the finer details to make the adventure seamless. “We plan the trip so our travelers never have to hail a cab to get to their hotel or organize themselves to get to the airport and make their flight.” Everything is designed for the guest’s ease. “They’re flying into a little airstrip in the middle of nowhere, and the safari lodge guides are waiting for them to arrive so they can take them to the camp.”
Over her 17 years with Bushtracks, Sam has traveled to Africa many times and knows it inside and out. “I take pleasure in crafting an efficient itinerary using my knowledge of logistics, and I like putting the puzzle together and matching it with what people want.”
“The most rewarding part is when people tell me what a great time they had, especially first-timers. When they come back, they are like, ‘Wow, I had no idea.’ Until you get there and experience it for yourself, you can’t understand.”
