Top 5 Things to See and Do in Entebbe, Uganda

Entebbe lies on the sandy shores of Lake Victoria and even though it contains Uganda’s International Airport, it’s very laid-back. Unlike the noisy congested capital city of Kampala, just 28 miles up the road. You might spend one night here on your way to or from your Uganda safari to see gorillas, chimpanzees, tree-climbing lions, hippos and unusual birds.

Our top 5 activities in Entebbe

1. Uganda Wildlife Conservation Education Center – A place to get up close and personal with a variety of animals. The staff are eager to share their knowledge and discuss their conservation efforts.

2. Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary – A short boat ride away to Chimp Island for the ultimate opportunity to interact with a Chimpanzee. Learn about these fascinating creatures and their stories. These Chimps were rescued from the bushmeat or pet trade.

3. Botanical Gardens – Learn more about the flora of Uganda during a leisurely walk through the gardens. Some monkeys and birds may also appear in the canopy.

4. Reptile Village – See fascinating snakes, chameleons, tortoises, turtles, lizards, and crocodiles up close. These scaly creatures were rescued or injured to end up in Reptile Village.

5. Anderita Beach – Eat with the sound of waves crashing on the beach in the background. This is a relaxing experience you won’t want to miss.
